| Each year since 1983, the Vermont Travel Industry Conference (VTIC) has provided a forum for Vermont's travel and tourism industry to come together to learn and share ideas. In 1994, the VTIC scholarship was established to enable Vermont college students to further their education in a tourism-related field. As tourism's economic impact continues to increase both domestically and throughout the world, it is essential to ensure that industry leaders of the future are qualified, competent, and prepared to take on the many responsibilities, which those of us in the travel and tourism industry today are creating for them. Vermont students deserve the opportunity to further their education in the field of travel and tourism. The VTIC Scholarship Award will help deserving students become the future leaders of our industry. |
Criteria
VTIC Scholarship recipients must:
- Be enrolled full time in a two-year or four-year accredited Vermont college or university
- Have a grade point average of a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better
- Be working toward a degree with emphasis in a travel and tourism related field (e.g. hotel management, restaurant management, tourism, ski area management, recreation management).
